Since the remodel, this thrift store has been attempting to emulate a chic boutique (this IS Farmington) and has a significantly reduced abundance of goods. The focus is on women's clothing, with multiple racks of female apparel organized by color and season/clothing type. Where they once had a fantastic assortment of odds and ends, now lies empty, sparse floors and walls.
They had their Grand reopening, on June 8. Went in there expecting sales as they had been telling people for weeks, that sales are going to be great that day, well there were none.
We really enjoy going to the Goodwill stores. For one thing you'll never know what you're going to find. In the past I've bought two Keurig coffee makers and with a little cleaning I've used them both for the past 2 years. As most of you know Goodwill pricing is very good. They mark their product with colored packs and each day a certain color is 50% off. And I believe once a month everything in the store on a certain date usually a Saturday probably the last Saturday the month everything in the store is half price. That's once a month. But if you're looking for something unusual I wouldn't doubt if you wouldn't find it at a Goodwill store. Plus as we all know Goodwill is always helping someone in need. It's a good feeling to know that when you buy something there that the money is going to help someone.
I went back to the front, told the cashier about the signs, the manger came up pissed that I called him out on his prices. They reluctantly changed them, but that could of been an extra money for me.
not donating there anymore.the ark even goes 2 ur house 2 pick up donations.
I continued to shop and found things for the family. Went to the register, they were ringing up different prices than what their signs said. I brought it up to the cashier's attention, she told me no, that she was ringing up the right prices. The manager walked by she told him that there were signs starting other prices, he snapped at me telling me no their weren't any sighs starting that, that all his a were the same. I told him where they were at, do he proceeded to the back and than began removing the signs. I went to I knew there was one, because that's where I got some clothes from, and showed him. He snapped at me again telling me to not touch his signs, I than got irritated telling him if his signs say something then he needs to go by them. I guess he didn't hear me because he yelled what! So I told him again louder this time.
It sucks, supposed 2 b a cheap store 4 people in need, glad i checked it out,
About half of the staff are really on it, providing excellent customer service and make it fun to be there. The other half should not work in customer service, to put it lifhtly. I was asked by one employee to leave my purse (medium-sized) at the register, although women with larger personal bags went "unnoticed." I'd brought in some donations, but ended up leaving with my things because I was disappointed at the overt favoritism and unequal "new store policy." Hopefully this was an off day, because I plan to return again and continue to have high hopes and aspirations for this store.
As one jerk said it's a good week store who cares if they are charging wrong prices. Well to me it's like stealing from their customers. A different type of theft. I wonder how many people were ripped off that day?? And that manger, well he was altogether a different type of jerk. He needs to learn how to talk to people rather than at them.
Typical thrift store. Good prices
