I have come to this place a lot since I've moved here two years ago. Every time any family or friends come into to town I take them here, or I always recommend this place.
Wait staff was very welcoming and attentive (thus the 3 stars). Food was just o.k. No distinctive flavors. Had deep fried tilapia, which was left in the fryer too long, and the fish didn't taste seasoned at all. Shrimp cocktail had a nice portion size. Again, no seasoning on the shrimp.
We are from Ft Worth, Texas. There are a lot of great Mexican food restaurants where we live, so when we are on the road a lot it's sometimes a trial to find great food we enjoy. This was GREAT Mexican food. My boyfriend and I enjoyed every last bite, and the staff was great and friendly. The restaurant was cute with a classic, colorful look, also very clean. Would recommend to anyone looking for some DELICIOUS mexican eats!
Very disappointed, especially after seeing all the good reviews. Ordered the 7 Mares (Seafood Soup) because it's one of my favorite dishes to order at restaurants like this one. Only to be very disappointed. No flavor whatsoever. It tasted like water with a hint of bland V8 juice. I tried a few sips thinking it was just me, but the only flavor that I found was that of the NOT so fresh seafood that was in it. I let the waitress know right away. She seemed reluctant, so I offered to pay for it anyway even though I literally only took a few sips, and so she brought me the check and I paid and walked out. Never again.
I took some friends there this party weekend and ordered the qué Rico special. The camarones a la diablo we made with ketchup and hot sauce. The octopus had a horrible old fish taste to it. The steak that came with it wasn't even big enough to get one taco for my 6 year old out if it. Although there was a good amount of chicken with it, it was cold. I informed the staff and had $6 taken off if our order. So basically I paid $23 for beans rice and grilled onion and bell pepper. Our got refilled after asking for times, and only half or drinks were filled. Their salsa was excellent as always, but at being treated this way, it will be a long while before I go back, if I ever go back. Oh and they weren't even busy, that's the really sad part.
Oh Yes! If you love Mexican food as much as me you will go to this restaurant. The food and atmosphere is amazing. All the seats and booths are hand carved, hand painted, true pieces of art. Red Chili was amazing as well. Left a $10 tip for the fantastic service
