This restaurant is always a good choice when deciding to eat out. The good is good, there's enough variety on the menu. And the prices are awesome. The service is good. And there's also a buffet line, for a cafeteria like environment. Always a good pick.
Where do I even start? First of all, I wanted something new around Farmington and I settled on this place after seeing the article on Chef Bernie.... Let me just tell you, the food is nasty! Especially the burger, my cheese was so GMO processing looking that it didn't even melt, it was as if someone just poured candle wax all over my burger. I WILL NOT be eating here ever again. I hope the Health Inspector sees all the flies and sniffs the smelly bathrooms.
Had the hamburger steak and it wasnt even cooked on the inside. Hubby had chile relleno and it didnt even have cheese on the inside. Felt like staff was rushing customers and us to get out. Came home sick to my stomach. We will never go back. Others may like it but not us.
I would say that for most of us living in the Farmington area that this place is a hidden gym. Walking into the dining room is like stepping foot into a living history exhibit. Each of the original booths has its own jukebox and there is an authentic 1960s era counter service. I've not been in for the buffet and I've only been to lunch one time but the food is consistently up to standard for American diner fare. I would say you catch this place at its best if you visit during breakfast time.The vibe very much takes me back to having breakfast with my grandfather in the 70s. In fact, when I stopped in for breakfast, Chef Bernie himself was helping set up the buffet line. The staff told me that he opened the place back in the 60s. I would encourage everyone in Farmington to visit at least once. Let's keep this piece of living history going!
